Why I Don’t Use Western Medication?

I believe in using alkaline foods as medicines for the body, to heal itself, rather than depending upon western medicines. I have struggled through various diseases in my previous years. But, after following suggestions of my grandfather, and some nutritional experts, my body changed forever.

My Likings for Vegan Foods Have Sound Ground

Veganism is gaining popularity with each passing day and this is not without reasons. Vegan food renders a lot of health benefits as it is food by God. Veganism is a way of life that attempts to eliminate all forms of animal exploitation and cruelty; using them as food, clothing, or any other purpose. Therefore dairy, eggs, meat, and other animal products are excluded from the vegan diet. Additionally, western medication is also exempted for wellness from the vegan diet because orthodox medications are man-made and have serious side effects on the body in the long run.

Vegan food mainly consists of natural products whereas man-made products like western medicines or processed food are artificial and full of chemicals that cause harm to the body staying within the body system for a longer duration.

By following a vegan diet, a person chooses the right food that changes the pH balance of the body and reduces the chance of various diseases.

Food that Heals

Food has a very influential effect on the human body. Good food heals your body while bad food encourages various diseases.

Good food includes fruits, vegetables, herbs, grains, oils, nuts and seeds, natural sweeteners, spices, and some herbal teas that promote body wellness but these are restrictive in number.

I have a special liking for raw food over cooked food because although cooked food taste amazing, all of the vital nutrients and natural enzymes are destroyed in the process of cooking. Natural enzymes are essential for food digestion and fighting chronic diseases.

These Are My Reason for Liking the Raw Food Diet:-

  • High in fiber
  • Nutrient-rich
  • Help control blood pressure
  • Low in sodium that lowers chances of stroke, heart failure, stomach cancer, osteoporosis, kidney disease
  • Promotes weight loss
  • Help prevent or manage type 2 diabetes
  • Naturally gluten-free
  • Boost immunity and memory
  • Improve arthritis
  • Clear up headaches and allergy

Why I Don’t Support Western Medications?

Western medications however may make you feel better sometimes, but these drugs do not cure the actual illness. The need is to adopt and understand the right health practices which translate into vital energy, needed to fight diseases in the body. This energy comes from the right diet and physical activities that counteract the acidic effect of food that we consume.

The acidic impact of food is responsible for various health issues and prompt patients to stay hooked on to medications. But if you switch over to the right kind of food, you will feel the vibrancy of life flowing through your veins, like me.

Why Western Medication Kills Slowly?

Mostly western medicines have found to adversely affect human health. Whether it’s a prescription medicine, over-the-counter drug, an alternative, herbal or complementary therapy, or vitamin supplements, any medicine can have an adverse effect. This is the reason why drug manufacturers have been ordered to list all its known adverse effects to get medicines approved.

Western Medications Can Affect In Form Of Following Interactions And Lead To Serious Effects:-

  • Drug-drug Interaction

It happens when two drugs interact with each other inside the body. For instance, aspirin and warfarin are blood-thinning medicines. But, taking them together increases the chances of bleeding and bruising.

  • Drug Food Interaction

It occurs when a food interacts with the drug and alters its result. For example, statins reduce cholesterol levels but consuming high-fat foods boosts them again.

  • Drug Herb Interactions

For instance, using an antidepressant medicine with St. John’s Wort can ignite a proactive mood in a person suffering from bipolar disorder.

Some Common Mild Adverse Effects of Western Medications Include:-

  • Diarrhea
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Headache
  • Insomnia
  • Nausea
  • Skin rashes or dermatitis
  • Constipation

Some Serious Side Effects of Western Medications Can Be:-

  • Cancer
  • Internal bleeding
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Abnormal heartbeat

Need for Discipline

Consuming a vegan diet needs disciplining yourself as I have done because only a disciplined diet that can heal you. Eating food that is preferred by your tongue may not cater to your health requirements.

We need to eat food that is nutritious and heals us rather than going by the taste, look, and the flavor of the food. These foods turn to be addictive.

Good nutrition plays a very crucial role in health and wellness. If you combine it with physical activities, your diet helps you reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduces the chances of chronic diseases like heart issues, hypertension, osteoporosis, and cancer, etc.

My Lifestyle

I have been a vegan for the last 5 years and that has changed my life for good. Before that, I was struggling with various health issues but now it has been very long that I have been to the hospital ever.

I have shifted my diet plan to eating more raw plant-based diet that has healed me completely. You may refer my diet with whichever name you like but I prefer calling it cooke food from the sun.

How I Heal My Body with the Food?

My day starts with drinking alkaline water immediately after getting up. This helps me to get freshen up in no time because my food contains a lot of water and fiber that cleanses the toxins out immediately.

After my private task finishes, I read for 1 hour. Sometimes my reading consists of health and lifestyle content which inspires me to continue my diet further. Thereafter, I jog for 45 minutes to 1 hour daily; without a miss. I make sure to drink a lot of alkaline water during my exercising regime and reading routine to keep my body hydrated.

After having a bath, I come back to reading and prepare my breakfast consisting of raw food; fruits, and vegetables.

I have a special affinity for seasonal fruits as they have more health benefits over cold storage fruits and veggies. My favorite fruit includes banana, custard apples, papaya, mango, or any other alkaline fruit or vegetable in the morning.

For almost a month, I have been consuming soursop in my breakfast because in Ghana it is a seasonal fruit.

My Preference for Raw Fruits and Vegetables in Breakfast Is Backed Up By the Following Benefits:-

  • Rich source of vitamins and minerals good for health like Vitamin A, C and E, zinc, magnesium, folic acid and phosphorus
  • Promotes weight management
  • Lowers cholesterol
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Protect against diseases lowering the risk of type 2 diabetes, stroke, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and hypertension

Drinking Water in Between

I prefer drinking at least one gallon of water per day which I adjust between my meals. I don’t prefer drinking water while I am eating because I do not want water to interfere with my digestion process.

My lunch in the afternoon consists mainly of raw food. I used to consuming some cooked food but some advice from Dr. Aris Latham has helped me consume most of the food raw with modern technology.

I don’t prefer eating in the evening. But in case I have to you, I prefer eating raw food; at least 4 hours before going to bed, so that my body has ample time to digest it.

Glad to follow my alkaline diet as it made me healthier and happier!

  1. I’m on a plant based high alkaline diet too and honestly I feel so much better both physically and mentally. I try to avoid western medicine as much as I possibly can because I really think a lot of things can be cured through your diet.
